In November 2024, Times Higher Education (THE) announced the Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025. In this first release, TDTU ranked 95th out of 749 ranked universities and 274 unranked universities (Reporter status).
The Interdisciplinary Science Rankings measures the contributions and commitment of global universities to interdisciplinary science, including three key areas: inputs (19%), process (16%), and outputs (65%), with 11 carefully calibrated performance indicators as follows:
-Inputs:
Funding for interdisciplinary research (8%)
Funding from industry (11%)
-Process:
Management support, facilities, administrative support, and administrative promotion (4% each)
-Outputs:
Number and proportion of interdisciplinary papers (15%)
Multidisciplinary impact through citations and research quality (25%)
Reputation from surveys on researchers (25%)
