Doing research at TDTU
With the goal of developing into a world-class research university, scientific and technological activities at TDTU are organized according to international standards with the following directions:
-Basic research: Research outcomes must result in publications in top-tier, reputable journals listed in WoS or Scopus databases.
-Technology research: Research outcomes must successfully address practical issues, with the results being new designs, patents, or inventions granted patents by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

On December 4, 2024, Ton Duc Thang University inaugurated the office of the Institute for Advanced Study in Technology in Hanoi. The event was held at the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health Science Building, 95 Tran Quoc Toan Street, Tran Hung Dao Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.
According to this ranking, Ton Duc Thang University was placed 95th out of 749 ranked institutions and 274 unranked institutions worldwide, securing the No.1 position in Vietnam.
