On August 15, 2023, Mr. Nguyen Kim Son, Minister of Education and Training, met with teachers, administrators, and staff in this field. The meeting was held face-to-face and online, connecting with 63 provinces and cities.

The meeting was led by Minister himself and attended by Deputy Ministers, including Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuong, Ms. Ngo Thi Minh, and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc An, Chairman of the National Education Union of Vietnam.

Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) attended the meeting from its main campus at 19 Nguyen Huu Tho, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. There were Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President, Dr. Vo Hoang Duy, Vice President, and more than 200 lecturers and staff.

This meeting is an opportunity for teachers, administrators, and staff of the Education sector to voice their thoughts, aspirations, benefits and drawbacks of working, and at the same time an opportunity for the Minister be made aware of these concerns in order to adjust the management, administration, and policy improvement.

The opinions focused on some main issues, including university autonomy and  the role of teaching staff in implementation, improving the quality of training and scientific research, digital transformation in education and adaptation of universities, infrastructure, network planning, among many.

The meeting “Minister of Education and Training meets with teachers, administrators, and staff of the education sector” attracted a lot of attention and received more than 6,200 suggestions, of which more than 200 were from colleges and higher education institutions.  This is important for the Ministry of Education and Training to continue to perfect the regulations and policies, and to execute practical solutions, thereby developing the teaching and administrative staff of the sector, ensuring the staff to carry out the tasks of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training.
