Traditional Education and Roots-Return Program by the TDTU Party Committee in 2025

To uphold the tradition and moral principle of “When drinking water, remember its source,” and to foster patriotism, national pride, and a sense of responsibility among Party members and the team of managerial staff in expressing gratitude, while also creating opportunities for exchange, learning, and sharing professional skills and experiences, on the occasion of commemorating the 78th Anniversary of Vietnam’s War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2025) and the 96th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 – July 28, 2025), from July 10, 2025, to July 12, 2025, the Party Committee, University Council, and Presidential Board of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized the Traditional Education and Roots-Return Program in 2025.

The delegation was led by Comrade Vu Anh Duc, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council. Accompanying him were Comrade Vo Hoang Duy, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the University; Comrade Vu Dinh Hoa, Party Committee Member and Chairman of the University Trade Union; along with other Party Committee members, Secretaries of affiliated Party Cells, and leaders of units under and directly affiliated with TDTU.

The roots-return journey from July 10 to July 12, 2025, followed the itinerary: Ho Chi Minh City - Thanh Hoa - Nghe An - Ha Tinh - Quang Tri - Hue City. The journey began with a ceremony to offer incense in memory of President Ton Duc Thang in Ho Chi Minh City. Throughout the journey, the delegation visited and respectfully offered flowers and incense to honor and express gratitude to heroic martyrs and national heroes who contributed to the nation at significant historical sites and “red addresses”: Kim Lien Historical Site (Sen Village, Nam Dan, Nghe An) – hometown of President Ho Chi Minh; National Special Historical Site on the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail – Dong Loc T-Junction (Ha Tinh); the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap (Quang Binh); Ben Hai River – Hien Luong Bridge Historical Site (Quang Tri); Truong Son Martyrs’ Cemetery; and Quang Tri Citadel Historical Site. Within the framework of the journey, the delegation also held a meeting, exchange, and working session with the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labour.

The roots-return journey is a meaningful activity that contributes to educating about revolutionary traditions, enhancing political awareness, and fostering patriotism and national pride among the University’s staff. It is also an opportunity to honor the immense sacrifices of previous generations for the independence and freedom of the homeland, thereby inspiring a sense of responsibility to continue and promote revolutionary traditions in each staff member of Ton Duc Thang University.
