Handover of the “Children’s Playground” Project and the “Youth Mural Section”, and Community Engagement Activities for Children and Residents in Kon Chieng Commune
On the morning of July 21, 2025, at Kon Chieng No. 2 Primary School, Kon Chieng Commune, Gia Lai Province, the Summer Volunteer Campaign Command of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), in collaboration with the Youth Union of Kon Chieng commune, organized a program to hand over the youth projects, including the “Children’s Playground” and the “Youth Mural Section”, and activities to care for children and local residents in the commune.
Attending the ceremony, on behalf of TDTU was Dr. Tran Trong Dao – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, President of TDTU; on behalf of Gia Lai Provincial Youth Union was Mr. Nguyen Chi Hieu – Deputy Head of the Youth and Children Department, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai Province, Deputy Secretary of Gia Lai Provincial Youth Union; on behalf of local leadership was Mr. Nguyen Van Chat – Secretary of the Party Committee of Kon Chieng Commune. In addition, the ceremony was also attended by children, local residents, and TDTU 2025 Summer Volunteer Campaign members who are carrying out their tasks at Kon Chieng commune.
As part of the activities under the “Joint Effort in Rural Development” and “For Our Beloved Younger Generations” initiatives, the Summer Volunteer Campaign Command and the TDTU volunteer team carried out the following specific tasks: concreting the children’s playground area and installing playground equipment with a total cost of 15 million VND; painting a youth mural with the theme “Kon Chieng No. 2 Primary School – Green, Clean, Beautiful”, valued at 4 million VND; raising funds and awarding 80 support kits and 2 scholarships to disadvantaged students, with a total value of 44 million VND; providing assistance to 5 disadvantaged families, totaling 5 million VND; and distributing 100 set of necessities to local residents.
The TDTU 2025 Summer Volunteer Campaign at Kon Chieng Commune took place with meaningful activities, reflecting the proactive spirit, volunteerism, and responsibility of the youth at Ton Duc Thang University. At the same time, it contributed to providing healthy play and learning opportunities for children and supporting local residents in their efforts to improve living conditions and rural construction.
