Panel Discussion on “Vision and Future Orientation for Education in the AI Era” at Ton Duc Thang University
On March 20, 2025, as part of the Vietnam Science and Engineering Fair (ViSEF) for secondary and high school students in the academic year 2024 - 2025 taking place at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (DOET), in collaboration with TDTU, organized the panel discussion on “Vision and Future Orientation for Education in the AI Era”.
Attending the panel discussion were Dr. Pham Ngoc Thuong – Deputy Minister of Education and Training; Dr. Thai Van Tai – Director General of the Primary Education Department, Ministry of Education and Training; and Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu – Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training. On behalf of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), Dr. Vo Hoang Duy – Vice President, along with lecturers and researchers, were also present. The event brought together numerous experts and leaders from various organizations and institutions in the education sector nationwide.
“Artificial Intelligence” (AI) is currently a key term that frequently appears in panel discussions, conferences, and agendas across all fields worldwide. In the education sector, AI is considered a revolutionary force. The digital transformation era and the rapid development of AI call for a shared vision and a clear direction for the future of education.
At the panel discussion, several high-quality presentations with in-depth academic insights and thought-provoking perspectives were delivered by esteemed speakers from the academic community. These presentations garnered significant interest and engagement from attendees, leading to active discussions and exchanges between participants and speakers. The discussions focused on various practical issues, addressing both immediate challenges and long-term visions in the education sector.

Delivering a speech at the panel discussion, Dr. Pham Ngoc Thuong, Deputy Minister of Education and Training emphasized “Integrating AI into education is an urgent task that requires immediate, proactive, and creative action, tailored to the practical conditions of each locality without hesitation or delay. Departments of Education and Training must take the initiative in training, upskilling, and encouraging teachers to apply AI in teaching. At the same time, they should collaborate with organizations and institutions that have successfully implemented AI in education to pilot and expand AI-integrated educational models”.
