Ton Duc Thang University successfully organizes the 4th Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term

On February 26, 2025, the Party Committee of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) successfully held its 4^th Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term. This Congress was one of the key Congresses under the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, contributing to the series of Congresses leading up to the 14^th National Party Congress.

The event was attended by Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan – Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Mr.  Dang Ngoc Tung – Former Member of the Party Central Committee, Former Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, and Member of the TDTU Council, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Hong – Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City University and College Bloc, representatives from various units under the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City University and College Bloc, District 7 Party Committee, Tan Phong Ward Party Committee, and representatives from the Party Committees of universities under the Party Committee of the Bloc.

On behalf of TDTU, notable attendees included Mr. Vu Anh Duc – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council, Mr. Tran Trong Dao – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, President of the University, and 100 official delegates and 66 invited guests.

The 4^th Party Congress of Ton Duc Thang University for the 2025-2030 term is a milestone in TDTU’s development, encouraging all lecturers, staff, and students to unite and strive for sustainable growth. It also aligns with the University’s 30^th anniversary celebration (September 24, 1997- September 24, 2027) and the successful implementation of the fourth five-year development plan for the 2025-2030 term.

During the 2020-2025 term, the Party Committee of the University successfully led and directed the fulfillment of its set objectives, particularly in political missions and Party building. Notable achievements include advancements in education, training, scientific research, and accreditation rankings. TDTU has maintained and achieved high rankings in international and regional university rankings, such as top 100 globally for sustainable development, ranked 95^th out of 1,023 universities and leading Vietnamese institutions in interdisciplinary research for 2025, top 200 best universities in Asia, top 200 best young universities in the world, top 601-800 best educational institutions worldwide according to THE 2024, among others.

Up to now, TDTU has had 22 research groups in various fields. The total number of scientific papers published in the WoS/Scopus database since 2020 has reached 7,586 (as of December 1, 2024). Also, 10 patents have been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). TDTU has two international journals, including the Journal of Information and Telecommunication (JIT), which has been indexed in the WoS (ESCI, Q1) database with an Impact Factor (IF) of 2.7. The Journal of Advanced Engineering and Computation (JAEC) has been awarded 1 point by the State Council for Professorship in the field of Mechanics. Until now, the University has successfully organized 70 international conferences, including 32 within the five-year term. Many major conferences initiated and first organized by TDTU have become annual international conferences in their respective fields and are now hosted in different countries worldwide, such as AETA, CUTE, ICFE, AsiaPharm, and ICAS. The proceedings of these conferences are indexed in the WoS/Scopus database.

In her directive speech at the Congress, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Hong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City University and College Bloc stated “Amid the increasing demands of international integration, the University must continue to develop strategic plans, promote scientific research and innovation, create valuable scientific products, and establish an academic and research environment that meets international standards. This helps the University achieve sustainable development, attain new accomplishments, and affirm its position both nationally and internationally.” She also urged the TDTU Party Committee to continue focusing on Party-building efforts, strengthening the study and application of President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, ethics, and style, effectively implementing democratic regulations, and enhancing the role and effectiveness of mass organizations.

Upholding the spirit of concentration, democracy, and intelligence, the Congress elected the TDTU Party Executive Committee for the 2025-2030 term, along with the Standing Committee and the Party Committee’s Inspection Commission for the same term. The TDTU Party Executive Committee for the 2025-2030 term consists of 13 members, with Mr. Vu Anh Duc serving as the Party Secretary and Mr. Tran Trong Dao as the Deputy Party Secretary. The Party Committee’s Inspection Commission comprises four members, with Ms. Pham Thi Minh Ly elected as its Chair for the 2025-2030 term.

The Congress approved the Resolution of the 4^th Party Congress of Ton Duc Thang University for the 2025-2030 term, which includes 10 quantitative targets for the 2025-2030 term. “The core spirit of the Resolution is to maximize all resources by all means to accelerate and sustain the development of Ton Duc Thang University. The goal is to successfully transit the University into Ton Duc Thang University System by 2030. Every cadre and Party member, especially leaders, must set an exemplary standard, uphold the principles of democratic centralism, foster solidarity within the Party, and strengthen consensus within the institution. We are determined to successfully implement the Resolution of the 4^th Party Congress of the University, as the entire nation looks forward to the 14^th National Party Congress and enters a new era - an era of national advancement,” stated Mr. Vu Anh Duc, Secretary of the TDTU Party Committee, in his closing remarks.
