Speaking at the commemorative event, Dr. Tran Trong Dao – President of Ton Duc Thang University and Director of the DSEC – stated: “At this time, as the whole country is turning its attention to the South and to Ho Chi Minh City, preparing activities and programs to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, TDTU is also organizing many meaningful and practical events to mark this important occasion. One of the key events is the co-hosting of the Gathering of Former Political Prisoners and War Prisoners of Ho Chi Minh City (those formerly imprisoned in places such as Phu Quoc, Phu Tai, Con Dao, and others). This event offers students and lecturers a rare opportunity to meet living witnesses of a heroic, difficult, yet glorious era – strengthening their sense of gratitude and faith in the sacrifices and contributions of past generations.”
“Looking back on 50 years of national reunification, we should deeply appreciate the value of peace and freedom. It also helps us better understand the responsibility of today’s generation in preserving, promoting, and spreading the spirit of great national unity, patriotism, resilience, and the aspiration to rise,” emphasized the President.
On this occasion, Dr. Tran Trong Dao, on behalf of the University and the DSEC, extended heartfelt thanks and deep gratitude to past generations of leaders, officers, soldiers, and veterans – especially those who are now contributing to education at TDTU. He also expressed appreciation for the cooperation and support of functional units, unions, and the University’s academic staff, who have supported its mission of educational development. He expressed his belief that with determination and unity, TDTU will continue to grow sustainably and become a leading research university in the region on its path to global integration.
