On March 22 and 23, 2023, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) in collaboration with the British Standards Institute (BSI) organized the second phase of evaluating the recertification in Quality Management as per the ISO 9001:2015.
Participating in the evaluation were Mr. Le Huu Thanh Phuong, Head of the assessment team, and Mr. Vu Gia Kien, assessor. On TDTU side, there were Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President, Dr. Vo Hoang Duy, Vice President, and representatives of leaders and ISO staff in charge from faculties, departments and relating units.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Tran Trong Dao affirmed that TDTU always strives to improve and update the new evaluation processes of ISO standards as quickly as possible, contributing to maintaining and developing the public university autonomy model and improving the quality of its operations.
On behalf of the assessment team, Mr. Le Huu Thanh Phuong introduced information and evaluating methods of ISO 9001:2015 . He appreciated the University’s cooperation with the team to deploy, review and complete the documents in phase 1, facilitating the evaluation in phase 2.
The evaluation included on-site interviews, proof and quality objective checks, reviews of actual teaching and learning activities of relating units. These were to ensure the effectiveness and suitability of the University’s management system.
The assessors reported the preliminary evaluation results, and made some suggestions for the University to improve its training program and scientific research, helping it to update the integration trend, quickly adapt to new changes and better accommodate students.
TDTU has been involved in the ISO evalutation process since 2007, and has continuously updated and improved its management system to keep up with the development of global higher education and digital transformation. The evaluation results will contribute to improving the quality of the University's operations in the future.
