Ton Duc Thang University conducts the on-site AUN-QA programme assessment for 3 undergraduate programmes

From July 16 to 18, 2024, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) conducted an on-site assessment for 3 undergraduate programs, including Software Engineering, Finance and Banking, and Environmental Science, according to AUN-QA 4.0 standards. This was the 397th external assessment by AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network - Quality Assurance) and the 6th time at TDTU.

Delivering a speech at the Opening Ceremony, Dr. Tran Trong Dao stated that the University highly values the AUN-QA 4.0 quality standards of the AUN organization. After conducting a self-assessment of the undergraduate programs based on AUN-QA standards, the University proceeded with the external assessment for the three programs. “We look forward to receiving valuable evaluations and recommendations from the assessors to further improve these programs,” Dr. Tran Trong Dao said.

The AUN-QA quality standards framework is a highly effective tool for comprehensively evaluating the University’s study programs. It encompasses various aspects such as learning outcomes, curriculum design, the quality of lecturers and students, facilities, quality assurance processes, and the connection with professional fields.

The 397th on-site assessment of AUN-QA at TDTU took place over three days, from July 16 to 18, 2024. The assessment activities included working sessions with faculty leaders, department heads, and the self-assessment team; interviews with stakeholders (lecturers, support staff, students, alumni, and enterprises); visits to the University’s facilities and specific departments. These activities aimed to help the assessors identify the strengths and areas for improvement of the University and provide recommendations to enhance the quality of the study programs.

At the end of the assessment, the AUN-QA assessors highly commended TDTU’s undergraduate programs in Finance & Banking, Environmental Science, and Software Engineering across several aspects, including: The programs are designed to meet labor market needs and modern educational trends. The teaching staff possesses high levels of expertise, extensive experience, and a deep commitment to teaching. Besides, TDTU graduates are highly regarded by enterprises for their knowledge, skills, and work attitude. TDTU boasts modern facilities, notably Inspire Library, which supports students' learning and research needs. In addition, the spacious, green, clean campus facilitates students’ learning and living experiences, supports extracurricular activities, and promotes skill development and personal growth.

Apart from the strengths, the AUN-QA team also shared their experience and proposed several areas for TDTU to focus on to enhance the quality of education in the future.

As of July 2024, TDTU has 17 study programs certified according to AUN-QA standards, 15 programs certified according to FIBAA standards, and 9 programs certified according to ASIIN standards. In the 2024-2026 period, the University will continue to improve and enhance the quality of its study programs, aiming for 100% of its programs to be accredited according to international standards.
