The Junior Council for Professorship at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) in 2024 held two official meetings on July 16 and 17, 2024, to consider the recognition of the qualifications for the titles of Professor and Associate Professor for the year 2024.
This is the official step of the Council after several months of various procedures, including online discussions, regular Council meetings, and meetings with the Support Team for preparation.
The first session was attended by 13 Council members, including Prof. Dr. Sci Phan Quoc Khanh – Chairman, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc – Vice Chairman, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Duc Hien – Council Secretary, along with 10 Council members and the Support Team. Notably, Mr. Nguyen Van Huu – representative of the State Council for Professorship, participated throughout the first session, contributing to the discussions and providing clarifications on concepts and regulations.
In the first session, the Council thoroughly reviewed and discussed the dossiers of 12 candidates who applied for the title of Associate Professor, including:
1. Nguyen Doan Quoc Anh, Disciplinary/Interdisciplinary: Electrical – Electronics – Automation Engineering
2. Dinh Hoang Bach, Disciplinary/Interdisciplinary: Electrical – Electronics – Automation Engineering
3. Tran Trong Dao, Disciplinary/Interdisciplinary: Electrical – Electronics – Automation Engineering
4. Le Thi My Hanh, Disciplinary/Interdisciplinary: Economics
5. Vo Huu Hau, Disciplinary/Interdisciplinary: Electrical – Electronics – Automation Engineering
6. Nguyen Truong Huy, Disciplinary/Interdisciplinary: Pharmacy
7. Le Ba Khiet, Disciplinary/Interdisciplinary: Mathematics
8. Duong Dang Khoa, Disciplinary/Interdisciplinary: Economics
9. Tran Minh Phuong, Disciplinary/Interdisciplinary: Mathematics
10. Cao Xuan Phuong, Disciplinary/Interdisciplinary: Mathematics
11. Nguyen Nhat Tan, Disciplinary/Interdisciplinary: Electrical – Electronics – Automation Engineering
12. Tran Minh Tung, Disciplinary/Interdisciplinary: Construction – Architecture.
At the end of the session, the Council voted to approve the list of candidates to be interviewed in the second session.
In the second session, 13 Council members participated, along with members of the Foreign Language Appraisal Team and the Support team. The 11 candidates who met the criteria took turns to present their Overview Reports and relevant information. Chaired by Prof. Dr. Sci. Phan Quoc Khanh, at the end of each presentation, the Council asked numerous follow-up questions to clarify the candidate’s research and training results, as well as provided comments and suggestions to help candidates address shortcomings and develop their professional expertise.
The Council then discussed, evaluated, and concluded on each performance, conducting a secret ballot to select candidates who met the standard to be awarded the title of Associate Professor. The Council also approved the reports for submission to the State Council for Professorship and the University leadership.
