Research results on the Cuckoo search algorithm for refinement in the premier journal

Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) introduced to all lecturers, staff, students and whom may concern a new and typical research result of TDTU named: "An effective adaptive selective cuckoo search algorithm for solving three complicated short-term hydrothermal scheduling problems ". This work is published in Energy journal under the prestigious Elsevier Publishing House. Energy is an International Journal of the ISI, with an Impact Factor (IF) of 4,968 according to the Web of Knowledge (US) and has an H-index of 146 according to SJR (Spanish). According to the international publication rankings of TDTU, Energy Magazine is ranked exceptionally in the Specialization in a Narrow field: Civil and Structural Engineer (according to SJR).

The main author of the article is Dr. Nguyen Trung Thang, lecturer of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, TDTU. This is a long and very well researched result because the works published in the Journal of Energy have a high demand for novelty and scientific pioneering

According to Dr. Nguyen Trung Thang, the paper proposed a new improvement method based on the classic Cuckoo search algorithm to apply for optimum operation of short-term hydrothermal system with 3 different models. The proposed algorithm was able to produce more efficient results than its classical methods and other popular methods such as DE and PSO. The complex constraints on the 118-bus IEEE power system have been thoroughly addressed in a short period of time so as to increase the stability of the grid and minimize the cost of generating electricity as well as minimizing losses on the grid. This proposed algorithm can be applied extensively in other technical areas and can be highly effective.
