The Ministry of Education and Training Hosts the Conference on Reviewing the Organization of the 2025 National High School Graduation Examination at Ton Duc Thang University
On September 26, 2025, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) convened the Conference on Reviewing the Organization of the 2025 National High School Graduation Examination, hosted by Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) at its Tan Hung campus in Ho Chi Minh City.
The conference was honored by the attendance of Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuong - Permanent Deputy Minister of Education and Training and Head of the National High School Graduation Examination Steering Committee; Mr. Huynh Van Chuong - Director General of the Vietnam Education Quality Management Agency, Ministry of Education and Training; and representatives from functional departments and units under the Ministry of Education and Training; the CPV Central Committee’s Publicity and Education Commission; the Ministry of Public Security; the Government Inspectorate; and the Government Cipher Committee; and more than 500 delegates, including Presidents and Vice Presidents of universities and leaders of Departments of Education and Training (DOETs) from provinces and cities across the country.
In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong acknowledged the efforts and positive achievements of the entire education sector in organizing the recent examination. He emphasized the importance of thoroughly reviewing the process and drawing practical lessons to further enhance the quality, fairness, and efficiency of future examinations. The Deputy Minister also commended Ton Duc Thang University for its thoughtful and professional organization of the conference. He praised the University’s pioneering contributions to national education reform, highlighting its role as one of Vietnam’s leading autonomous public universities striving toward international research university standards.
On the occasion of TDTU’s 28th Founding Anniversary, on behalf of the conference participants, Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong extended his warmest congratulations to the University’s leaders. Through President Dr. Tran Trong Dao, he conveyed his best wishes to all lecturers, scientists, staff, and students of the University, acknowledging the University’s contributions and achievements over the past 28 years, as well as TDTU’s outstanding achievements and significant contributions to national human resource training in general and to the higher education sector in particular.
“I firmly believe that, with the youthful spirit of its 28 years, TDTU will continue to uphold its achievements and make further breakthroughs in higher education reform under the guidance of Resolution 71 of the Politburo,” the Deputy Minister stated.
According to the MOET, the 2025 High School Graduation Examination had 1,165,289 registered candidates, an increase of nearly 100,000 compared to that in 2024. The exam was held at 2,494 test sites with 49,849 exam rooms across the country. Examination supervision was carried out safely, seriously, in strict accordance with the plan, ensuring practicality and efficiency.
Presenting the summary report, Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Chuong - Director General of the Vietnam Education Quality Management Agency, Ministry of Education and Training, stated that the 2025 High School Graduation Examination was held successfully, safely, and in a serious manner, accurately reflecting teaching quality. To prepare for the 2026 examination, the Department will continue to build on positive aspects while also drawing lessons from the past examination to further enhance the quality of its organization.
The Conference highlighted key lessons for the 2026 National High School Graduation Examination, when all students will follow the 2018 General Education Program. These include strengthening coordination between localities and central units; renewing training content with greater practical relevance; upgrading examination management software; and providing timely and clear communication to students, parents, and teachers about the Examination.
This year’s National High School Graduation Examination took place successfully and achieved commendable results despite numerous challenges, particularly in the context of the growing application of artificial intelligence. Building on the lessons from the 2025 Examination, the education sector and relevant agencies are determined to further promote achievements, refine organizational methods and technology, and ensure that the 2026 Examination and those in subsequent years will be conducted with greater safety, transparency, and efficiency.
Thanks to its modern facilities and professional event management, TDTU was entrusted by the MOET to host this year’s Review Conference. The event not only reaffirmed the University’s pivotal role in educational reform but also highlighted its prestige, influence, and social responsibility within Vietnam’s higher education system.
