On the afternoon of 5th September 2017, Ton Duc Thang University was honored to welcome National Assembly Chairwonman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan to visit and work on the occasion of the new school year.
After listening to the brief report on the process of 20 years of establishment; experience of autonomous university management and university recommendations; taking a tour of the campus, the National Assembly Chairwonman highly appreciated the achievements of TDTU in many fields; Particularly, Ton Duc Thang University is one of the first universities to successfully implement the model of autonomous public universities, creating a breakthrough direction for the reform of the education system in general and the system of public universities in particular; “Currently, only a few universities with a long history of establishment can do this. Ton Duc Thang University is a purely financiallly autonomous university, which is very precious ... ".
The National Assembly Chairwoman said to the lecturers, staff and students, "I often pass by and feel impressed with Ton Duc Thang University, but when I visit it in person, my impression gets stronger; The university is beautiful not only from the outside but also from the inside, clean from the outside to the inside. The Culture of students and lecturers at Ton Duc Thang University is a very precious thing. These have been obtained through the accumulation of the past 20 years. Certainly students and lecturers of all generations will have to preserve and promote the good traditions which we have built in the past 20 years so that it can grow and develop as it has today.
The National Assembly Chairwoman expects all staff, lecturers and students of The University to continue to strive to be worthy of the attention of The Party, The Government, The General Confederation of Labor of Vietnam, The People Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and The Local Authorities; worthy of the first flag; worthy of one of the models in the educational system at university level to contribute directly to the renovation of the Vietnamese education in the coming years.
On this occasion, The National Assembly Chairwoman donated 01 photocopier, 05 printers, and 10 laptops to The University and awarded 20 scholarships worth 110 million VND to the first year students with special difficulties.
National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan also offered her congratulations to The University on its new academic year and its 20th anniversary. Her visit is an honor, respect and appreciation of The State, The National Assembly for the achievements and contributions of generations of teachers, staff and students of The University, for the innovation of the educational system and for a propriety and ethic education of the country.
