On April 20, 2024, Ton Duc Thang University coordinated with Dong Thap Provincial School of Politics to organize a knowledge update class for 52 officials who are lecturers and rapporteurs of the School of Politics and Political Centers, Administrators, and leaders of agencies in Dong Thap Province with the topic “Learn about the smart classroom model at Ton Duc Thang University”. The class is organized in the form of a thematic report combined with a field trip.
On this occasion, Ms. Dang Thi Kim Anh (MA), Head of the Department of Student Affairs at TDTU, noted the learning and training situation of Dong Thap students at TDTU. According to the University’s data, there are currently nearly 1,000 Dong Thap students studying at the undergraduate and graduate levels at TDTU. The cooperative relationship among TDTU, the Department of Education and Training of HCMC, and high schools has been built and developed well over the past years. The University has organized dozens of experience and career orientation programs for thousands of high school students in the province, training on technology application skills in teaching for teachers of high schools, and participating in guiding students to conduct scientific research projects that won high prizes in national science and technology competitions. In particular, TDTU has granted many scholarships to Dong Thap students with a total value of more than 1.6 billion VND.
Mr. Le Phuc (MA), Head of the Department for Computing and Computer Services, introduced an overview of the technology application model in teaching at TDTU. This is a teaching ecosystem based on a digital university model consisting of organically linked components, such as traditional classroom, learning management system (LMS), synchronous online teaching platform, mail system, digital institute and digital learning resource warehouse, digital testing system, simulation system and support equipment, inspirational learning space, etc. with the aim of maximizing students’ ability and sense of self-study in every situation, and personalized according to each person's abilities.
On the field trip, class participants were guided to visit and experience the system of facilities for digital teaching at TDTU such as classrooms simulating financial and banking operations, the creative space of the Faculty of Industrial Fine Arts, the industrial communication practice room with robotic arms of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, the 3D golf simulation room of the Faculty of Sport Science, the Inspire Library, and Vietnam - Finland International School.
Speaking to summarize the class, Dr. Vo Thi Tuyet Hoa, Vice Principal of Dong Thap Provincial School of Politics, highly appreciated the effectiveness of the class, sincerely thanked the University for the support and coordination in organizing the class, and affirmed that the knowledge gained from the exchanges and field trip at TDTU will be important in improving the training quality of the School of Politics in the coming time.
