From October 19 to October 22, 2023, Angkor University delegation (Cambodia) had a visit, collaboration, and cultural exchange with the students of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU). The delegation consisted of 68 students and 14 staff members, including the President, leaders of various departments, institutes, and professors from Angkor University.
During the visit, collaboration, and exchange activities, both sides organized the Signing Ceremony of a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between TDTU and Angkor University on October 21, 2023. The event was attended by Dr. GNEL Rattha - President of Angkor University, Mr. Kith Sothearith - Consul of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Ho Chi Minh City, and Ms. SOR Seileang - Head of Information Marketing and International Relation Office, along with other leaders and professors from Angkor University.
On the TDTU side, there was the presence of Dr. Tran Trong Dao- President of TDTU, Dr. Vo Hoang Duy - Vice President of TDTU, and Dr. Đinh Hoang Bach - Director of International Cooperation, Research & Training Institute (INCRETI), along with leaders from several other subordinated units of TDTU.
During the working session, Dr. GNEL Rattha - President of Angkor University expressed his deep impression of TDTU and highly praised TDTU not only for its position as one of the top universities in Vietnam but also for its strength in technology and scientific research. He appeared very enthusiastic about the potential for collaboration and expressed a desire to share knowledge while also hoping to learn from TDTU.
Both sides discussed potential areas of collaboration, including the development of joint programs at the university level, annual short-term student exchange programs, and admission of students, staff, and lecturers from Angkor University to pursue Master's and Ph.D. programs at TDTU. The successful working session and the Signing Ceremony of the cooperation agreement demonstrated the desire to establish a strong and mutually beneficial relationship between TDTU and Angkor University.
During the event, students from Angkor University also had the opportunity to participate in traditional Vietnamese folk games such as bamboo pole dance, blindfolded pot smashing, capture the flag, basket shooting, and lime passing. These activities were designed to help the students from Angkor University learn about the distinctive cultural aspects of Vietnam. At the same time, it provided an opportunity for TDTU students to showcase their language skills, enthusiastic and dynamic spirit, and hospitality.
Over the years, TDTU has become an international cooperation hub for education and research through the increasing exchange activities for international students and ongoing, periodic cultural exchange. These exchange activities for international students at TDTU have significantly contributed to strengthening and enhancing collaboration between the University and international partners. This provides an opportunity for TDTU's lecturers and students to connect with friends from various countries around the world.
