From September 18 to September 22, 2023, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized the “Student Orientation Week”, themed “Let’s start a new journey”, for the new students of intake 27 to welcome the new academic year 2023-2024.
Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and the President of TDTU, along with members of the Presidential Board, leaders of key Faculties, Departments, Boards, Centers and Institutes welcomed as well as listened to the thoughts and wishes of the new students.
Speaking at the Orientation, the President congratulated the new students and gently advised “You should take advantage of your time, youth, resources and opportunities at TDTU to accumulate and broaden your knowledge, nurture your brainpower and compassion, and foster your bravery. Together with the University, let’s work seriously and contribute to our collective and the community, thus, we can build and inherent the original values of Ton Duc Thang University, which are Devotion, Fairness and Effectiveness. Let's bring those good values to everywhere you live and work”. In addition, the President took time to listen and answer a number of questions from the new students, thereby assigning tasks to other Departments, Boards, Centers and Institutes, who are always ready to support students.
Student Orientation Week is an annual event to welcome the new academic year, helping new students get acquainted and integrate themselves into the culture of TDTU. There are activities including introduction to TDTU culture, student affairs, the three ethical conduct, guidance on learning skills at TDTU, academic affairs, instructions on requirements and how to meet the English Language Proficiency.
The three ethical conduct is TDTU’s traditional moral education program for all students studying at the University. The core content of this program is “achieving good learning results as filial duties to parents, respecting the laws of the country and regulations of the university, caring for the community and not being selfish”. By understanding and fulfilling these 3 tasks well, students will be able to complete themselves, develop their expertise, become filial children in the family and good citizens for society. For many years, the three ethical conduct program has made an important contribution to building the unique qualities of TDTU students.
Previously, from September 14 to September 16, 2023, all faculties had organized meetings to welcome and support the new students at the beginning of the academic year 2023-2024.
