On the morning of May 22, 2023, the ASIIN organization together with Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) officially opened the accreditation of undergraduate and graduate study programmes for 5 majors, including Computer Science (Bachelor and Master), Civil Engineering (Bachelor and Master), Transportation Engineering (Bachelor), Electrical Engineering (Bachelor and Master), Automation and Control Engineering (Bachelor and Master).
The accreditation team consists of 17 members, including 11 scientists from the Federal Republic of Germany and 6 representatives of the Department of Transport, enterprises and students of universities in Vietnam.
The event took place during May 22-23, 2023, with assessment activities including interviews with the University leaders, Faculty leaders, Head lecturers, lecturers, students, alumni, and enterprises; and an actual visit to the system of facilities, simulation rooms, laboratories of programmes.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Tran Trong Dao - President of TDTU highly appreciated ASIIN’s set of standards. This is a solid basis for the University to comprehensively view training activities, thereby improving the quality of education according to international standards in order to meet the needs of building and developing TDTU to become a prestigious educational institution, which specializes in training high-quality human resources for the society.
Ms. Yanna Sumkötter - ASIIN Project Manager thanked TDTU for trusting and choosing ASIIN to accredit study programmes and affirmed that all assessors will make an objective assessment based on the criteria set by the organization, helping the University to recognize and improve the quality of the study programmes as well as bring the best experience to the students in Vietnam.
After 2 working days, the University has received positive feedback from the ASIIN accreditation team. Prestigious scientists, professors and experts highly appreciated the structure of the study programmes, the quality of the teaching staff and the student support services. Also, it has a good network of connections with enterprises and alumni, and the quality of graduates is highly appreciated by enterprises. In addition, the delegation was very impressed with the campus, modern facilities, especially the Library. Besides, the experts also shared experiences and showed some points to note in the coming time to help the University improve programmes better, get the updates of advanced science and technology in order to meet the needs of society and contribute to the development of TDTU towards the world elite research university.
ASIIN is a prestigious accreditation organization in the system of the European Consortium for Accreditation in higher education, carrying out assessment and accreditation activities for higher education institutions and study programmes at higher education levels in the fields of natural sciences, engineering, mathematics - statistics, computer science and information technology, science and engineering. ASIIN accreditations are recognized for their effectiveness assuring the quality of higher education worldwide. After 4 study programmes are recognized according to FIBAA standards and 15 study programmes are recognized according to AUN-QA standards, the participation in the accreditation of TDTU’s 9 study programmes under the ASSIN standards is an important step towards realizing the goal of international integration and developing into the world’s elite research university.
