Ton Duc Thang University Opens the 536th AUN-QA External Assessment for Four Undergraduate Programs
From September 15 to 17, 2026, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) conducted an external assessment against the AUN-QA standards for four undergraduate programs: Architecture, Graphic Design, Occupational Safety, and Mechatronics Engineering.
This is the 536th external assessment conducted by the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) and the 11th assessment at TDTU. The AUN-QA assessment team comprises experts and AUN-QA Secretariat members from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Thailand.
Notably, with the exception of Mechatronics Engineering, which is undergoing its first assessment, the other three programs are participating in their second assessment cycle (reassessment). This provides TDTU with an opportunity to gain a clearer understanding of the outcomes of its continuous improvement efforts and the development of these programs following a full cycle of implementation.
Assessment against the AUN-QA standards is not only an opportunity for the University to obtain an objective view of the quality of each program, but, more importantly, a chance to further refine the training processes that have been developed and continuously improved over the years. In particular, the fact that several programs are entering their second assessment cycle demonstrates that quality assurance at TDTU is an ongoing process—building on previous achievements, enabling comparison over time, and continuously striving to deliver greater value to learners.
Representing the AUN-QA assessment team, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eric Wibisono acknowledged TDTU’s thorough preparation, spirit of cooperation, and efforts throughout the preparation process. He stated: “The AUN-QA assessment is not only intended to examine the extent to which programs meet quality assurance requirements, but also provides an opportunity for programs to gain a clearer understanding of their strengths, identify areas for further improvement, and benchmark themselves against common quality standards in the region. Through this process, the assessment contributes to continuous improvement and enhances the quality of education in a substantive and sustainable manner.”
According to the assessment plan, the AUN-QA expert team will conduct a range of official assessment activities, including interviews with program management teams, lecturers, students, alumni, and employers; observations of teaching and learning activities; site visits to assess facilities; and reviews of documents and evidence against the requirements of the AUN-QA Version 4.0 Standards.
As of July 2026, TDTU has 27 undergraduate and graduate programs accredited under the AUN-QA standards. Notably, 11 of these programs have been accredited under the AUN-QA standards for the second assessment cycle.
The growing number of TDTU programs assessed and accredited by the reputable international quality assurance organization AUN-QA marks an important step forward in the University’s ongoing process of international integration and development in alignment with regional and international standards.
