Ton Duc Thang University Hosts the 3rd International Conference on Sport Science 2025
The 3rd International Conference on Sport Science 2025 (ICSS 2025), themed “Technology, Sustainability, and Comprehensive Health in Sport”, was held from June 12 to 13 at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) in Ho Chi Minh City.
The conference was co-organized by Ton Duc Thang University in collaboration with National Taiwan Sport University (Taiwan), Burapha University (Thailand), Chung-Ang University (Korea), Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports (Vietnam), and the International Federation of Physical Education, Fitness and Sports Science Association (India).
The opening ceremony was honored by the presence of Dr. Vo Quoc Thang, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Sports; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Principal of Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Huy, Vice President and General Secretary of Vietnam Taekwondo Federation; and Prof. Rajesh Kumar, President of the International Federation of Physical Education, Fitness and Sports Science Association (India).
Representing Ton Duc Thang University were Dr. Vo Hoang Duy – Vice President of TDTU, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Trung Hieu – Faculty of Sport Science, Chair of the Conference. The event also welcomed the participation of hundreds of experts, scientists, coaches, and students from Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, India, and Vietnam.
This year’s conference focused on key areas of modern sports science, including Sport business and management in the digital age; Training science and performance measurement; Biomedicine and rehabilitation; Physical education and school-based physical activity; Technology Applications in the analysis and enhancement of movement performance; and Sport psychology and athletes’ mental health. These themes highlight the diversity of perspectives on the conference topics, contributing to sustainable development within the field.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Vo Hoang Duy, Vice President of TDTU, stated:
“This year’s conference features numerous presentations centered around sports technology – a prominent trend reshaping how we train, compete, monitor, and manage in the industry. Groundbreaking studies applying artificial intelligence, motion sensors, big data, and virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR) will be introduced, offering exciting new perspectives for sport professionals and managers in Vietnam.”
The conference featured 126 scientific presentations from researchers, experts, coaches, and sports managers representing 46 universities and institutions from Vietnam, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, India, and other countries. ICSS 2025 served not only as an academic forum but also as a bridge connecting lecturers and students with enterprises and sports clubs, laying the groundwork for translating research ideas into practical applications. Through panel discussions and activities that link academia with real-world practice, the conference strengthened the connection between universities, society, and labor-market needs.

A key highlight of the event was the active participation of TDTU students majoring in Sports Management, who took on a variety of organizational roles, ranging from logistics and media coordination to interpretation and supporting speakers in engaging with the audience. This hands-on experience provides valuable exposure, equipping students with not only professional knowledge but also organizational, communication, and cross-cultural skills essential for integration in an international academic environment.
It is the third time ICSS 2025 has been hosted by Ton Duc Thang University, further reinforcing its reputation as a respected scientific forum and attracting widespread interest from the regional sport science community.
