Training on Fire Prevention, Firefighting and Rescue for students

On October 19, 2022, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) collaborated with Ho Chi Minh City Police Department to organize a training on fire prevention, firefighting and rescue for students with the topic “Students' response skills to accidents and incidents at university”. The training aims to implement the policy of Ho Chi Minh City on fire prevention, firefighting and rescue, raising people’s awareness of their responsibilities and obligations in ensuring fire safety to protect their lives and properties and their sense of responsibility in fire protection. In addition, the activity of fire prevention and firefighting is also one of the contents that TDTU focuses to build a safe and healthy learning environment for students.

Reporter of the training is Captain Do Ngoc Duc from Fire Prevention, Firefighting and Rescue Police Team of Ho Chi Minh City. There were also 300 students of different faculties participating in the training.

At the training, the reporter presented basic issues on fire prevention and firefighting; instructed the necessary skills to escape in case of fire and explosion, and clarified issues related to people’s consciousness in participating in fire prevention and firefighting. Captain Do Ngoc Duc specifically guided the necessary response skills combined with on-site practice, including the fastest way to identify when a fire occurs, how to evacuate from the fire, how to use fire extinguisher and many other skills. The training session was effective and attracted the attention of all attendees.

Besides, Ton Duc Thang University collaborated with Ho Chi Minh City Police Department to develop the Report 114: Fire and explosion causes in universities, students’ response skills to fire and explosion. This is a content of the program The Whole Population on Fire Prevention and Control in October 2022.
