Ton Duc Thang University Welcomes and Works with the University of Pécs, Hungary
On January 14, 2025, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) hosted a meeting with the University of Pécs, Hungary (UoP).
Representing the partner institution at the meeting were Mr. Gábor Lehőcz, Consul General of Hungary in Ho Chi Minh City, and Prof. Dr. Zoltán Gál, Professor of Finance and Director of the MBA Program at the University of Pécs (UoP). On behalf of TDTU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Hoang Bach, Director of the International Cooperation, Research & Training Institute, along with representatives and leaders from various affiliated Departments within the University attended the meeting.
During the meeting, both parties engaged in discussions on proposals and potential pathways for future collaboration, tailored to the strengths and priorities of each institution. Key topics included the establishment of short-term student exchange programs, enabling participants to engage in project work, scientific research, and cultural exchange. They also explored opportunities for lecturer/researcher exchange programs to support academic activities such as teaching, conducting scientific research, and co-organizing conferences and workshops. Furthermore, the discussion encompassed Hungary’s visa and scholarship support policies, with particular focus on the Hungarian Pannonia Scholarship Program, aimed at benefiting both lecturers and students.
The University of Pécs, established in 1367, is the oldest higher education institution in Hungary and one of the largest universities in the country. It is renowned for offering a variety of highly ranked programs in respected international rankings. It excels in fields such as agriculture, biological sciences, economics, and business.
The collaboration agreement with the University of Pécs represents a significant advancement in TDTU’s international partnerships, especially with Hungary. Previously, TDTU had only established a partnership with one other Hungarian institution, Corvinus University of Budapest.
