On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (20th November, 1982 – 20th November, 2017), the Trade Union of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized TDTU Lecturers and Staff Tournament from 13th to 20th November 2017 with a variety of games such as chess, badminton, tennis, marathon run, tug of war, futsal, fishing, and especially the boat racing which took place for the first time on the clean canal in TDTU campus. The tournament is the annual activity at TDTU not only to celebrate Teachers' Day, but also to encourage and motivate the physical training and sports movements among lecturers and other employees, and create a better collaborative environment and team work.

- The heaviest fish: Department of Inspection and Internal Supervision
- The biggest fish: Faculty of Foreign Languages
- Futsal (Men): Department of Facilities Management
- Chess (Individual): Mr. Phan Thanh Viet (Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics)
- Athletic field game (Team): Coalition of Department of Student services, Dormitory Management Board and STDC Center
