Each round offers students the opportunity to demonstrate their competence, hone their skills and spread the core values: Discipline - Politeness - Professionalism - Creativity - Devotion
In her speech at the final night of the contest, Ms. Dang Thi Kim Anh (MA) – Head of the Department of Students Affairs, Deputy Head of the Contest asserted: “With the philosophy “Liberal Education for Comprehensive Human Development”, Ton Duc Thang University strives to cultivate a dynamic, modern, and humane learning environment. Every year, from faculty to university levels, over 800 activities in fields of academics, art and culture, sports as well as volunteering and community activities are organized, providing students with an environment and opportunities for comprehensive development.”
Launched in April 2025, the Contest attracted over 150 student registrations. After the Preliminary Round (April 18) and Semifinals (May 16), the top 20 finalists (10 male and 10 female) advanced to the Final Round. They competed in three segments: Traditional Ao Dai Costume, Evening Gown, and Question and Answer, to determine the highest titles. Throughout the journey, under experts’ guidance, candidates underwent professional training from skill classes such as catwalk, public speaking practice, and personal styling.
In addition to the core competition activities, this year’s contest stood out for its community-oriented initiatives. The Top 20 finalists presented their social service projects and participated in a field trip to Can Gio District, which included offering incense at the Rung Sac Martyrs Temple, meeting soldiers of Border Guard Flotilla 2 as well as donating a bookshelf to Can Thanh Primary School. These activities helped spread the spirit of living usefully and collectively – one of the three key features of TDTU’s three ethical conduct.
As a prominent event among over 800 annual activities aiming at comprehensive development in learners in line with the philosophy of liberal education, the Student Beauty Contest not only underscores the institution’s commitment to well‑rounded academic excellence but also helps shape TDTU students into professionals who are professionally competent, resilient in character, and enriched with a spirit of devotion.
