On the morning of August 9, 2022, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held the opening ceremony of the National Defense and Security Education course for students of Saigon Technology University (STU).
Attending the ceremony were Dr. Tran Trong Dao - Acting President of TDTU, Colonel Nguyen Tien Loc - Director of the Center for National Defense and Security Education along with lecturers and staff of the Center, and more than 1,200 STU students.
STU’s representatives included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cao Hao Thi - President, Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Phuong - Head of the Department of Training and Ms. Hoang Thi Thu Nguyet - Deputy Head of the Department of Training.
The National Defense and Security Education course for STU students takes place in 3 weeks, which is the main course in the university and college education program to implement the goal of comprehensive education. The course equips students with basic knowledge about national defense and security, disciplined living and studying style, national pride, spirit of national defense and readiness to serve the country. The course will end on August 27, 2022 as planned.
The Center for National Defense and Security Education is assigned the task of teaching National Defense and Security Education for 22 universities and colleges in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai Province. Accordingly, in addition to TDTU students, the Center is in charge of teaching more than 20,000 students from these universities and colleges every year.
