The Junior Council for Professorship of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held its third official meeting on July 19, 2023 to complete the process of considering and recognizing academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor in 2023, after many months of implementing this process in different forms, from online exchange, regular meetings of the Council, file preparation by the Chairman and Secretary together with the assistant team, to 2 official meetings on July 3 and July 18, 2023.
Attendees at the meeting were 14 members of the Council, including Prof. Dr. Sc. Phan Quoc Khanh - Chairman, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc - Vice chairman, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Minh Ly - Secretary, and 11 members, together with the Foreign Language Assessment Team and the Council’s Assistant Team. The four qualified candidates for the overview report approved by the Council at the 2nd meeting, including:
1. Dinh Hoang Bach, Disciplinary/Interdisciplinary: Electrical, Electronics, and Automation Engineering
2. Dang Thuy Dong, Disciplinary/Interdisciplinary: Mechanics
3. Vo Huu Hau, Disciplinary/Interdisciplinary: Electrical, Electronics, and Automation Engineering
4. Le Duc Hien, Disciplinary/Interdisciplinary: Construction, Architecture
were in turn invited to report on the results of their research and training.
Under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Sc. Phan Quoc Khanh, the Council asked questions, commented, and gave very detailed and insightful suggestions to each candidate. The language used is English.
After the meeting, the Council discussed carefully, objectively and fairly to assess the qualifications of each candidate in terms of expertise and English. In the afternoon of the same day, the Council voted for two rounds as prescribed and finalized the list of candidates with enough consensus votes to submit to the Presidential Board to carry out the procedures for reporting to the State Council for Professorship. Thus, after only a few days, there will be an official announcement on the University’s website about the results from the Council.
