On the evening of September 14, 2023, the GALA Final of Vietnam student securities investment contest, INVESTMENT CHALLENGE 2023 (IC 2023), took place at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU).
This annual contest is open to students from universities and colleges nationwide. As for the guests, attending the GALA Final were Ms. Hoang Hai Anh, Vice Chairwoman and General Secretary of the Vietnam Association of Securities Businesses (VASB), Mr. Nguyen Dich Thanh, Deputy Head of the General Department, Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE), together with leaders from leading securities firms, banks, and financial organizations in Vietnam.
On the TDTU side, there were Dr. Nghiem Quy Hao, Director of the Center for Applied Economic Research and Training, Staff in charge of the Department of Communications & Public Relations, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest; Mr. Nguyen Gia Duong, staff in charge of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee; along with representatives from various departments and centers, such as MA. Dang Thi Kim Anh, Head of the Department of Student Affairs; Mr. Tran Le Anh Huy, Deputy Head of the Department of Student Affairs, Secretary of the University Youth Union; Mr. Tang Khac Quy, Director of the Center of Enterprise Cooperation and Alumni; Mr. Tran Quoc Hung, Deputy Director of the Center for Applied Information Technology; Dr. Nguyen Duy Suu, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Accounting; and many lecturers and staff from various faculties, departments and students.
The IC 2023 final round featured ten competing teams from 11 universities and academies nationwide. The results were as follows:
- First Prize: MAVERICK TRADERS (University of Banking, Fulbright University Vietnam)
- Second prize: BVB (Ton Duc Thang University)
- Third prize: VISIONARY (Academy of Finance)
The IC 2023 contest aims to establish an academic forum and a practical investment environment, providing support for learning, research, and creating a meaningful and practical playground for university and college students nationwide interested in learning about the stock market investments.
The Vietnam Student Securities Investment Contest 2023, organized by CAER, an affiliated unit of TDTU, in collaboration with the Faculty of Finance and Banking and the New Stock Investment Club (NSC) of TDTU, has become the largest-scale and most practically oriented academic activity for students nationwide. The competition is professionally supported by the Vietnam Association of Securities Businesses. The judging panel comprises experts from the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE), as well as leading securities firms, banks, and training institutions in the market. This year, the IC 2023 has attracted the registration of over 2,100 students from 91 universities and colleges across the country.
