The Final Round of the “Searching for TDTU Student Startup Ideas” Contest for the Academic Year 2024 - 2025

On April 16, 2025, the Final Round of the “Searching for TDTU Student Startup Ideas” Contest for the Academic Year 2024 - 2025 took place at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), featuring the participation of the 10 most outstanding projects.

In attendance at the event, representing the invited guests, was Ms. Dang Thi Luan – Acting Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Innovation Startup Center. Representing TDTU were Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Son – Vice President and Head of the Contest Organizing Committee; Mr. Tang Khac Quy – Director of the Center of Enterprise Cooperation and Alumni; and Ms. Dang Thi Kim Anh, M.A. – Head of the Department of Student Affairs and Deputy Head of the Contest Organizing Committee, along with the leaders of Faculties/Units and a large number of TDTU students who came to support the competing teams.

Speaking at the Final Round of the Contest, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Son, Vice President of TDTU, stated: “In recent years, the University has placed great emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship through a variety of practical activities for students. In this academic year, we continue to organize the “Searching for TDTU Student Startup Ideas” Contest for the Academic Year 2024 - 2025 to further promote the entrepreneurial spirit among students. Startup ideas - whether big or small - are highly valuable, as they reflect the dynamism, creativity, and ambition of TDTU students who dare to challenge themselves and are determined to pursue ideas that carry their personal mark.”

At this year’s contest, 10 teams with unique and innovative projects advanced to the Final Round after successfully overcoming two challenging Preliminary Rounds. In the Final Round, the teams continued to compete in two parts: presenting and defending their startup ideas/projects, and responding to questions posed by the panel of judges.

The startup ideas presented by the competing teams showcased the enthusiasm and dedication of TDTU students, uncovering and nurturing creative ideas and products that respond to the pressing needs of the community.

Final Results:

  • The student team from the Faculty of Pharmacy, with their startup idea “Ngoc Viet Ginseng Tea,” won first place, receiving a 10 million VND prize and a certificate of merit from the President of TDTU.

  • The Second Prize was awarded to the student team from the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, with their startup idea “Braille Learning Support Device for the Visually Impaired” receiving an 8 million VND prize and a certificate of merit from the President of TDTU.

  • The Third Prize was awarded to the student team from the Faculty of Pharmacy, with their startup idea “Morus Alba Skincare Cosmetics – Morus Essence,” receiving a 5 million VND prize and a certificate of merit from the President of TDTU.

  • Two Consolation Prizes were awarded to the student teams from the Faculty of Information Technology, with their startup idea “Hodos: A Travel Assistance App for Foreign Tourists”, and the Faculty of Business Administration, with their startup project “T-Fresh: Business Startup Project for High-Tech Urban Agricultural Solutions”, each receiving a 3 million VND prize and a certificate of merit from the Contest Organizing Committee.

The “Searching for TDTU Student Startup Ideas” Contest for the Academic Year 2024 - 2025 is a playground that helps students apply the knowledge they have acquired in practice, guiding them toward business activities, providing real-life experiences, and affirming their abilities and creativity. This contest is also a great source of motivation for students to continue pursuing their entrepreneurial passions, serving as proof of the University’s effort and commitment to fostering an entrepreneurial spirit among its students.
