On August 18, 2023, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held a conference to announce the Decision of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on the recognition of the Vice Chairman of the University Council for the term 2021-2026 and the decision of the TDTU Council on the appointment of Vice President of the University for the term 2021-2026.
Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Dr. Vu Anh Duc - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Tran Trong Dao - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, President; Dr. Vo Hoang Duy - Vice President of TDTU and leaders, lecturers and staff of affiliated units of the University attended the Conference.
According to the Decision of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Assoc. Prof. Pham Thi Minh Ly - Secretary of the University Council for the term 2021-2026, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the University’s Party Committee, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration was appointed as the Vice Chairman of the TDTU Council for the term 2021-2026.
Assoc. Prof. Pham Thi Minh Ly has many outstanding scientific achievements, is the main author of many publications in prestigious domestic and foreign scientific journals, leader of many national and provincial research projects, a grassroots emulation soldier for many years, and receives many certificates of merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Also at the conference, the University announced the decision of the TDTU Council on the appointment of a Vice President for the term 2021-2026 for Dr. Dong Si Thien Chau - Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Dr. Dong Si Thien Chau holds a PhD in Electrical Machines and Equipment, University of Ostrava, Czech Republic and has been teaching at TDTU since 2001.
Speaking at the announcement conference, Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan emphasized that TDTU has strived to overcome all difficulties, rise unceasingly and achieve remarkable achievements, maintaining the core values of the University to be worthy of the university named after President Ton Duc Thang - University of the Vietnam Trade Union. Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also congratulated Assoc. Prof. Pham Thi Minh Ly and Dr. Dong Si Thien Chau, and wished that the newly recognized and appointed personnel will continue to promote their abilities, contribute to the performance of the University's functions and tasks, and bring TDTU to a higher level in their new positions.
To accept the appointment, Assoc. Prof. Pham Thi Minh Ly emotionally shared about the 20-year working process at TDTU, the honor to take up the new position, and expressed her gratitude to the University's leaders, particularly to Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President of the University, who has always encouraged and created conditions for her own development; to the lecturers and colleagues at the Faculty of Business Administration for always accompanying, standing by, overcoming difficulties, and affirmed to keep striving and fulfill the assigned tasks.
