The 26th Meeting and Summary Conference on the Operation of the University Council of Ton Duc Thang University
On December 31, 2025, the University Council of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held the 26th meeting for the term 2021-2026. The meeting was conducted in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Vu Anh Duc, Chairman of the University Council.
At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao, President of the University, representing the Presidential Board, reported on the University’s operations between the two meetings, from September 24, 2025, to present. He also presented several proposals and reports on various aspects of the University’s operations that required the University Council’s approval, including financial affairs, tuition fee policies, scholarships, facilities, construction projects, and other related reports. The meeting also discussed and addressed several other issues concerning the University's operations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the University Council unanimously approved the President’s reports and adopted several important resolutions to guide the University’s activities in the coming period.
This was the final meeting of the term 2021-2026. Concurrently, in accordance with the regulations of the 2025 Law on Higher Education, the University Council of Ton Duc Thang University will officially cease its operations as of January 1, 2026. Therefore, this meeting held special significance. On this occasion, the Summary Conference on the operation of the University Council was also organized to evaluate the results of the Council's activities and management over the past period.
Speaking at the summary session, Dr. Vu Anh Duc, Chairman of the University Council for the term 2021-2026, shared: “The term 2021-2026 comes to a close, marking the completion of the historical mission of the University Council model in public higher education institutions under the new provisions of the law. Looking back on the journey, it can be affirmed that the University Council of Ton Duc Thang University has successfully fulfilled its assigned role and responsibilities, leaving many notable imprints on modern, transparent, and accountable university governance.
On behalf of the University Council, I would like to sincerely thank the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour for its leadership and guidance; the close coordination of state management agencies; and the companionship of the Party Committee, the Presidential Board, especially the members of the University Council, along with all officials, lecturers, staff, and students of the University throughout the past term.”


Attending the Conference, representing the superior authority, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, highly appreciated the sense of responsibility and the striving efforts of the Presidential Board, functional departments, and individual members of the University Council during its operation. These efforts were of extreme importance, serving as the basis for the University Council’s decisions in managing and governing the University over the past period, especially during the initial period of its establishment when the University faced many difficulties and limitations. Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu also expressed his gratitude to the members of the University Council and wished that they would continue to devote their trust, affection, and utmost efforts to contributing to TDTU in the upcoming development stage, which will present both opportunities and challenges.
