A double celebration: The Vietnam People's Army and National Defense Day

On December 18, 2020, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) celebrated the 76th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army and 31st anniversary of the National Defense Day which were established on December 22, 1944 and December 22, 1989, respectively.

Dr. Tran Trong Dao, the University Representative, addressed his felicitations to the dignitaries. He also stressed hope to the veterans to continually promote the quality of “Uncle Ho’s Army” and strive to complete the tasks assigned towards upholding continuum progress of the TDTU community.

At the ceremony, the veterans accentuated valorous participation during the war. They also shared their achievements in the national defense and security work. More so, they emphasized their contribution in maintaining political security at the unit and building a sustainably developed University.

Prior to the celebration, the Center for National Defense and Security Education held the National Defense Sports Festival. The activities include shooting AK guns on electric exercise MBT03 machines, as well as assembling and disassembling AK guns. The festival was successfully done with the active involvement of lecturers, officials, and students.
