On the morning of July 22nd, 2020, the Delegation of the Department of Civil Defense, Ministry of National Defense, Department of National Defense and Security Education, Ministry of Education and Training, and Department of Internal Affairs, Government Office visited and worked with Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU).
The meeting was aimed at surveying the establishment of the Center for National Defense and Security Education (CNDSE) of TDTU under the National Planning “The system of Center for National Defense and Security Education in 2021 - 2030, with a vision for 2050” of the Department of Civil Defense.
The Delegation included Major General Luong Quang Cuong, Deputy Director of Department of Civil Defense, Ministry of National Defense; Mr. Vuong Quoc Chinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Internal Affairs, Government Office; Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Deputy Head of the Department for National Defense & Security Education - Civil Defense; Major General, Dr. Pham Duc Tu, Director of the Department for National Defense and Security Education, Ministry of Education and Training; and a number of other members.
Prof. Le Vinh Danh, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of TDTU; Colonel Nguyen Tien Loc, Director of CNDSE; MSc. Nguyen Van Bac, Head of the Department of Student Affairs; and some lecturers and officials also attended.
At the meeting, Colonel Nguyen Tien Loc introduced the organization of teaching National Defense and Security Education courses at TDTU’s campuses over the years. TDTU has always focused on comprehensive student education and development, particularly, basic military skills, the spirit of readiness to fight to protect their Country, and the disciplines of the army are the contents that the University leaders pay special attention to. Therefore, national defense and security education has a special role in its education system.
The University has invested in the system of facilities, military equipment, and national defense fields at Tan Phong Campus to best meet its teaching and learning requirements. Specifically, besides the military schools, only TDTU can organize the Military Semester that helps students improve a variety of necessary skills for their life.
Major General Luong Quang Cuong in his speech emphasized, "TDTU has been doing very well, even taking the lead in teaching the national defense and security education courses in Ho Chi Minh City."
The Delegation also made comments on the program and methods to further improve the teaching quality of national defense and security education at TDTU.
