The professor and student delegation from Cornell University have finished their international short-term course at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU). A week of exchange and study has brought a lot of interesting experience for members of the two universities. The activities such as Classes on Labor and Union issues; Tet-New Year cultural exchange; discussion with experts; visiting the Mekong Delta and Bao Loc Campus; co-hosting Student Debate Contest, simulating the Debate Contest (usually held on the occasion of Cornell Summer Camp for students).
TDTU students have got a lot of memories and knowledge from international friends. Brittany Garcia, Cornell Speech and Debate Society President, also shared: "I was very nervous before coming here, because Vietnam was completely new to me. But when I spent my time at TDTU, I was really happy with the enthusiastic support from my teachers and friends. The memory that I remember most about this trip was an interesting debate program with TDTU students. When we were in the USA we often ate alone, however, we had all lunches and dinners together here. I really like this culture in Vietnam."
Teaching assistant Veronica, Cornell Alumni, used to be a student who participated in the exchange course at TDTU in 2017 said: "I love Vietnam. The teachers and students at TDTU are very enthusiastic; regardless the major of study, people give American friends like us, the passionate fire in their area of expertise. TDTU is my second family. I look forward to my return to visit my Vietnamese friends."
Professor Richard Fincher emphasized the change of TDTU after his 10th visit to this university: "Firstly, I see that more and more TDTU students can communicate well in English. Secondly, I see that the buildings are growing so fast. I hope to come back next year to visit The new dormitory and the Vietnam Finland International School. Tet has come very closely, wish you a prosperous and happy new year with your family."
