On the morning of January 26, 2019, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held a ceremony to hand over Đoàn Thị Giàu Kindergarten to Long Xuyen City People's Committee, An Giang Province with the presence of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Member of Provincial Standing Party Committee, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Pham Thanh Thai, Member of Provincial Standing Party Committee, Secretary of Long Xuyên Party Committee and Chairman of Long Xuyên City People’s Committee; Mr. Nguyen Phu, Member of Long Xuyen City Standing Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Long Xuyen City People's Committee; Mr. Vo Binh Thu, Deputy Director of Education and Training Department of An Giang Province. On the side of TDTU, the ceremony was attended by Professor Le Vinh Danh, President of TDTU; Chairman of the Trade Union, Head of Personnel and Administrative Affairs Department; Department for Facility Management; Faculty of Industrial Fine Arts; and representatives of Contractors participated in the construction of Kindergarten; Principal Board, teaching staff of Hanh Phuc Kindergarten; Parents and their pupils.
According to the proposal of the People's Committee of An Giang Province and Long Xuyen City, TDTU continued the unfinished voluntary work of the previous sponsors, completed the construction of Doan Thi Giau Kindergarten next to the Memorial of President Ton Duc Thang (My An 2 Hamlet, My Hoa Hung Commune, Long Xuyen City, An Giang Province). This is not only a study promotion activity with the contribution of TDTU faculty and staff; but also love, responsibility of TDTU, An Giang Province and Long Xuyen City to make Uncle Ton's homeland better and more civilized, namely contributing to the development of educational activities; encouraging children to go to school; and helping the children practise essential skills and develop their critical thinking from the lowest levels of learning.
After more than 2 months of hard working and dedication, with an additional investment of more than 2 billion VND from TDTU, Đoàn Thị Giàu Kindergarten has now been officially completed and ready to welcome children to enroll right after Lunar New Year 2019.
