On October 2, 2024, in Ostrava City (Czech Republic), a Conference on developing international cooperation between universities of the Czech Republic and Vietnam was held, with Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) as the representative.
Attending the Conference were Mr. Duong Hoai Nam - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Rectors of 5 universities including Prof. VácLav Snásel - Technical University of Ostrava, Prof. Milan Adámek - Tomas Bata University in Zlin, Dr. Petr Kopecký - University of Ostrava and Prof. Libor Čapek - University of Pardubice from the Czech Republic, and representatives of Vietnam from Ton Duc Thang University including Dr. Vu Anh Duc - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council and Dr. Tran Trong Dao - President.
Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Duong Hoai Nam - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam praised the positive spirit and efforts of TDTU in building and developing a close, in-depth and effective international cooperation relationship with universities of the Czech Republic, contributing to promoting the image of Vietnamese education to friends around the world, gradually establishing the prestige of TDTU in the international arena. The Embassy of Vietnam in the Czech Republic also pledged to contribute to promoting cooperation between universities of the Czech Republic and Vietnam in the future.
During the working session with the Rectors of Czech universities, TDTU leaders proposed that the parties promote research cooperation in priority fields in the coming period: Artificial Intelligence, New material technology, and Green energy and environmental technology.
On this occasion, witnessed by Mr. Duong Hoai Nam, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic and the Leader of the Union of Vietnamese People Associations in Europe, the Representative Office of TDTU in the Czech Republic was opened. The establishment of the TDTU Representative Office is a major step forward in the strategic partnership between TDTU and Czech universities, creating connections and facilitating the implementation of cooperation activities in scientific research and technology transfer, training linkage, exchange of lecturers/students, etc. In addition, this is a place to not only display and introduce the unique features of Vietnamese culture and education but also act as a bridge for Czech enterprises to exchange investment information, business cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises/localities, contributing to deepening the friendly relationship between Vietnam and the Czech Republic.
In addition to working with Czech universities, the delegation visited the Center for Energy and Environmental Technologies and the Lanex factory of BR Group.
