On August 25, 2023, the delegation of the University of Danang (UD) led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, the Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the UD, along with representatives of Presidents and Vice Presidents of the UD’s member universities and representatives of leaders of departments and Chief of the Office visited and worked with Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU).
Welcoming the delegation were Dr. Vu Anh Duc - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council, Dr. Tran Trong Dao - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, the President, and representatives of leaders of departments, faculties, institutes, and centers of TDTU.
After visiting Vietnam - Finland International School (VFIS), Inspire library, FIFA stadium and laboratories, the delegation expressed their impression with the synchronized, spacious and advanced facilities of TDTU, especially the pride that teaching and admin staff take in the University. The delegation also appreciated the warm and friendly welcome received from the University.
Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu stated that TDTU has developed rapidly in recent years, and the success, rooted from its autonomy model, has become a typical example of innovation in the education system. Therefore, the UD wished to exchange and share practical experiences with TDTU in the management and administration of an autonomous university.
Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, the President of TDTU, said that the current achievements of the University are from the consensus and efforts made by all the University’s staff. They work with the spirit of devotion, dedication and creativity, which means “finish all the work, not finish the hours”. On the management and administration of university autonomy, Dr. Tran Trong Dao emphasized that “The factor that brings success to Ton Duc Thang University is doing the right thing from the beginning, being strict in achieving the goals, gathering collective strength, promoting creativity and discipline”. In addition, the University’s teaching and admin staff, as well as employees, follow the principles of fairness, effectiveness and devotion, management by goals and evaluation by results. Dr. Tran Trong Dao also said that TDTU’s target is to become a stable and sustainable unit in the long term with its self-financed resources, not state budget, then become a prestigious unit in the region and nation.
The University of Danang is classified as a national key university, and is a research center of the Central - Central Highlands region in the fields of science technology, technology, and economics. These fields are considered as strengths of the University of Danang, which have gained prestige in the region and the whole country.
