Activities Celebrating the 29th Anniversary of Ton Duc Thang University
September 24, 2026 marked the 29th anniversary of the establishment of Ton Duc Thang University (September 24, 1997 – September 24, 2026). A series of meaningful activities were organized to celebrate this milestone, creating a vibrant atmosphere, fostering a sense of pride, and strengthening connections among generations of the TDTU community.
Early in the morning, University leaders, lecturers, and student representatives solemnly offered incense and flowers at the monument of President Ton Duc Thang to commemorate and pay tribute to his significant contributions to the country. The ceremony expressed profound gratitude to the respected leader whose name the University is honored to bear. It also inspired a sense of pride and responsibility among generations of lecturers and students who have worked and studied at the University named after President Ton Duc Thang.
Vibrant “TDTU Rise Up – The Dance of Pride”
A highlight of the activities on September 24 was the Flashmob Competition themed “TDTU Rise Up – The Dance of Pride.” The competition brought together 16 teams representing the University’s 16 faculties and attracted more than 2,000 lecturers, staff members, students, and alumni who came to watch and cheer for the teams.
From music and choreography to formations and staging, each team brought its own distinctive style, showcasing the youthful energy, creativity, teamwork, and pride of TDTU students. The performances also conveyed messages of love for the homeland and country, aspirations for progress, and a strong sense of responsibility toward the community.
Through the process of developing ideas, rehearsing, and performing together, the competition created memorable experiences, strengthened connections among students, and promoted the five defining characteristics of TDTU students: Discipline – Politeness – Professionalism – Creativity – Service.
Strengthening University–Business Connections
Earlier, on September 19, 2026, the Friendly Corporate Football Tournament was held at TDTU Stadium. The exciting matches not only provided an opportunity for sports exchange but also contributed to strengthening relationships between the University and the business community.
Through the tournament, the Center for Enterprise Cooperation and Entrepreneurship connected with participating businesses and mobilized nearly VND 150 million in scholarships for TDTU students.
Over its 29 years of development, TDTU has rapidly expanded its scale, enhanced the quality of education, advanced scientific research, and strengthened international integration. This journey has been shaped by the dedication, efforts, and contributions of generations of University leaders, lecturers, staff members, employees, and students.
The 29th anniversary is an opportunity for the TDTU community to reflect on the journey thus far, cherish the values built together by generations, and continue moving forward toward new milestones.
