Ton Duc Thang University Welcomes and Works with the Delegation from the University of Waikato (New Zealand)

On March 23, 2026, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) welcomed and worked with the delegation from the University of Waikato to discuss potential directions for cooperation in training, research, and academic exchange. The University of Waikato is one of the leading universities in New Zealand, standing out in the fields of business, economics, and management.

The delegation from the University of Waikato was led by Professor Neil Quigley, Vice-Chancellor, along with representatives in charge of Southeast Asia and East Asia. Representing TDTU at the meeting were Dr. Vo Hoang Duy, Vice President, and leaders of relevant units.

Overview of the working session

During the meeting, both universities agreed to collaborate on implementing the Joint Training Bachelor’s Program in Business with three majors: Digital Economics, Supply Chain Management, and Finance. The program will follow a (3 + 0) full-time model delivered entirely in Vietnam. The curriculum will be fully developed and delivered by Waikato, with lecturers appointed and managed by the University of Waikato, ensuring quality equivalent to the main programs in New Zealand. The program is internationally accredited by AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA, and is ranked among the top 1% of Business programs worldwide.

According to the plan, the Waikato’s Joint Training Bachelor’s Program in Business is expected to be launched in 2026, attracting high-achieving students with strong English proficiency by offering them a wide range of scholarship opportunities from both universities, as well as short-term study and international transfer opportunities to New Zealand, depending on their needs and capabilities.

Highlights of discussions and exchanges between the two universities during the meeting

In addition, both universities discussed the implementation of further cooperative activities, including exchange activities for lecturers and students, joint research in science, technology, and innovation, and co-organization of international conferences and seminars in fields such as Economics and Business, Law, Information Technology, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
