On the afternoon of January 28, 2018, the Closing Ceremony of Ho Chi Minh City Student Football Tournament (2017-2018) took place at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) Stadium, to finish the competition lasting for nearly a month with the participation of 16 teams from 16 institutes, universities and colleges which represented more than 45 institutes, universities, and colleges in HCMC. This tournament is in the framework of the 4th Ho Chi Minh City University Sports (HCUS Games IV), which was co-organized by Ho Chi Minh City Communist Youth Union and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports.

The final match was the competition between the host (TDTU) and Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports. It was also enthusiastically watched by over millions of TV viewers across the country, supporters, and fans at TDTU Stadium. As a result, TDTU won the Championship. Concurrently, the goalkeeper Nguyen Duy Tung received the Best Goalkeeper Award. HCMC University of Physical Education and Sports and Nong Lam University respectively won the silver medal and the bronze medal.

After three successive times winning the second prize of Ho Chi Minh City Student Football Championship, this year, TDTU team’s dream of winning the game has become true. The incredible determination together with the decisive goal of winning the Championship now paid off. In addition, the unity and technical skills of the young players, one of the prides of TDTU sport team is also sufficient conditions for the championship.

At the beginning of the New Year 2018, TDTU won both Ho Chi Minh City Student Basketball championship and Ho Chi Minh City Student Football championship. These are successful signs of optimism to announce a new year with many great changes, as well as great success for TDTU.
