Ton Duc Thang University Expands Cooperation Programs with the University of the West of England, the United Kingdom

On February 29, 2024, the delegation from Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), led by Dr. Tran Trong Dao – the President, conducted a visit and working session with the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol, the United Kingdom. The delegation was accompanied by Professor Jo Midgley, Vice President, and leaders of various departments at UWE. The trip has expanded opportunities for cooperation and enhanced TDTU’s position with reputable international partners in the United Kingdom, one of the countries with the most advanced higher education systems in the world today.

During the visit to UWE, the leaders of both institutions signed agreements to comprehensively expand Programme of Bilateral Cooperation in education, establish joint/transfer programs for undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Applied arts, English language, and so on; jointly organize international workshops, student/lecturer exchanges; promote scientific research collaboration and technology transfer.

TDTU and UWE are currently implementing a joint study program for the dual degree (3 + 1) in Accounting. The two universities have exchanged and agreed to expand more joint undergraduate programs for other majors in the economic sector such as business administration, finance, marketing, international business law, and so on. Regarding postgraduate education, majors such as MBA, Financial Analysis, English Language, Construction Management, and so on, will also be implemented for joint study programs in the near future. In addition, exchange programs for students/lecturers, short courses, cultural exchanges, and internship programs will be intensified in order to provide opportunities for TDTU students to access diverse learning environments and lifestyles in one of the most developed countries in Europe.

TDTU delegation visited the Frenchay campus of UWE in Bristol, one of the most dynamic and developed industrial centers in the southwest of England. The school of Engineering’s building includes laboratories and simulations for aerospace engineering, automotive engineering, electrical engineering, automation, 3D digital technology, and 5G mobile communication. Of particular note is the Bristol Robotics Lab, one of the most advanced and diverse robotics development centers in the UK, with an investment budget of up to £9 million.

 

UWE is a leading public university in the United Kingdom, ranked in the Top 500 according to the THE World University Rankings 2023, with three campuses and a total student population of up to 30,000. It is the largest university training and research institution in the southwest region of England, offering nearly 600 study programs including arts, creative industries, healthcare, business science, law, environment and technology, and so on.
