On January 12, 2022, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) hosted a seminar with the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam, the United Nations, the World Trade Organization (WTO), and other international organizations in Geneva, Switzerland to exchange information about the University’s training activities, research, and development needs in international cooperation.
With multilateral and multi-field working mechanisms in place with dozens of major international organizations headquartered in Geneva, as well as a broad network of experts/scientists, the Delegation serves as an important conduit for TDTU’s future international cooperation activities.
Representatives from the Delegation included Dr. Le Thi Tuyet Mai – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, as well as leaders and experts. From TDTU, there were Dr. Dinh Hoang Bach, Acting Director of the International Cooperation, Research & Training Institute (INCRETI) and leaders of faculties.
During the seminar, the parties discussed in detail the activities and roles of each unit in relation to its tasks and responsibilities. Ambassador Le Thi Tuyet Mai, particularly, shared a wealth of information about international organizations, how to connect with them, and how to effectively implement cooperation activities in education, research, and academic exchange from a variety of fields.
In the coming years, in accordance with TDTU’s proposal on strengths in education and scientific research, the Delegation will assist in connecting and introducing a number of international organizations and a team of experts/scientists active in the field of interest, in order to assist the University in developing effective and focused bilateral/multilateral cooperation relations with potential partners.
Globalization has been promoting continuous renewal of higher education in each country, particularly through international integration. TDTU has always prioritized international cooperation as a critical activity, actively contributing to the university’s goal of becoming a world-class research university. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has had a significant impact on international cooperation activities, TDTU has actively diversified its activities and expanded its cooperation network via a variety of relationship channels. Vietnam’s diplomatic missions abroad, in particular, play a critical role in connecting, enabling TDTU and domestic universities to expand their access to foreign partners, universities, and international organizations.
