On September 3, 2021, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) of Ton Duc Thang University organized the 2nd Student Scientific Research Conference in 2021. The event was organized online with the participation of more than 200 students and lecturers.
In the academic year 2020-2021, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities has 13 proposals, 9 projects accepted at the Faculty level, 3 projects at the University level (of which 2 first prizes and 1 consolation prize are sent to the Euréka Award at city-level) with a total budget of 22.5 million VND.
The conference took place in two sessions:
The first session with the theme "Scientific Research - Key to Success" was the place for exchanges between research groups that won the university-level scientific research prizes in the fields of Social Sciences, Vietnamese Studies - Majoring in Tourism, Social Work. Students in research groups shared about methods, implementation process, difficulties and benefits of scientific research among students, and discussed difficulties in doing scientific research during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The second session with the theme "From ideas to research studies" was the place for lecturers to share about issues such as finding ideas, necessary qualities when doing research, searching skills - selecting sources, difficulties encountered by students and lecturers when doing scientific research.
At this event, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities also awarded certificates to groups of students with high achievements in scientific research at the university level and launched the student scientific research movement in the academic year 2021-2022.
