On the afternoon of January 13th, 2018, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held the Opening Ceremony of the 12th Master course and the 1st Doctoral course for the academic year 2017-2018. In the doctoral course, there were 9 candidates who met the entry requirements while in the Master course, there were 305 postgraduate students who have passed the entrance exam and started schooling.
In the opening speech for the ceremony, Dr. Tran Trong Dao, vice president of TDTU, congratulated the new doctoral students and postgraduate students on passing the entrance examination and being admitted into the postgraduate education program of TDTU. The university assigned doctoral students and postgraduate students to make the effort and take full advantage of TDTU's research conditions and facilities to complete the program on time with the best results.
At the opening ceremony, the University also awarded scholarships to doctoral students, students who have achieved high results in the postgraduate examinations 2017 to encourage them to continue to study well in order to win the scholarship for the next semesters and years.
After 11 years of postgraduate training, TDTU has been training more than 1,000 postgraduate students who are currently teaching at some major institutions or universities, or holding high positions in businesses and departments of the country. Especially, in 2017, the University received 03 more doctoral students and 15 students from Thailand and Laos. TDTU's plan is to attract international students to study at all levels of the University so that in the next 10 years, the number of foreign students, trainees and doctoral students will increase to 12% of the total number of students at TDTU.
