On the morning of November 8, 2021, the Embassy of Finland in Vietnam led by Mr. Touko Piiparinen - Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Finland in Vietnam visited Vietnam - Finland International School (VFIS) of Ton Duc Thang University. Receiving the delegation was Dr. Vo Hoang Duy, Director of the Executive Board of VFIS and representatives of the Presidential Board, teachers and staff of the school. This is the first visit of Mr. Touko Piiparinen to VFIS.
Mr. Touko Piiparinen expressed his good impressions of VFIS - the Finnish standard school model in Vietnam. There are almost no clear differences between the facilities and equipment at VFIS and those at similar schools in Finland, which is a very good condition for effective implementation of the Finnish educational program. In particular, in the context that teachers and students are gradually adapting to the new normal life after the Covid-19 pandemic, the optimal features of the design at VFIS will contribute to enabling students to return to school in the safest possible conditions.
After a tour around the school, Mr. Touko Piiparinen and VFIS Executive Board, Presidential Board and teachers at VFIS had a sharing session on the interest, support and cooperation from the Finnish Government towards VFIS in the future, regarding activities to improve the quality of teaching and learning, cultural exchange programs, study, research and work in Finland for students while studying at VFIS as well as after graduation.
The visit to VFIS by the Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Finland shows the Finnish Government’s interest in educational cooperation between Finland and Vietnam, as well as in teachers and students of the Vietnam - Finland International School.
