Delegation of Ton Duc Thang University visits and works with Universities in Shanghai, China
On October 14 and 15, 2025, the Delegation of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) led by Dr. Tran Trong Dao - President visited and worked with Shanghai Normal University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. The trip is part of TDTU's international cooperation expansion program, aiming to enhance academic exchanges, exchange lecturers and students and promote scientific research with leading universities in the region.
1. Working at Shanghai Normal University
On the afternoon of October 14, 2025, the TDTU Delegation visited and worked with Shanghai Normal University (SHNU), one of the long-standing prestigious training and research institutions in the field of education in China.
The reception was chaired by Prof. Jiang Mingjun - Vice President, with the participation of representatives of the university's affiliated units.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation opportunities in the fields of training, research and academic exchange and agreed to implement key cooperation programs such as:
- Joint training for Bachelor of Chinese Language according to the 2+2 model;
- Student exchange and cultural exchange, creating conditions for TDTU students to study, intern and experience in Shanghai;
- Exchange of lecturers, co-teachers and development of bilingual programs, sharing experiences in program design and quality assurance;
- Research cooperation in the fields of Linguistics, Education, Social Sciences and Humanities, Business, etc.

Shanghai Normal University was founded in 1954, is a key university of Shanghai city, outstanding in the fields of teacher training, linguistics, arts and social sciences.



2. Visit and work with Shanghai Jiao Tong University
On the morning of October 15, 2025, the delegation continued to work with Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), one of the leading universities in China, belonging to the C9 League group - the alliance of elite national universities.
Welcoming the delegation were Prof. Liu Weidong - Vice President, along with leaders of the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, School of Social Sciences, Department of International Cooperation and Mr. Zhang Jize, Vietnam Regional Manager - COMA Aircraft Manufacturing Group.



At the meeting, the two sides discussed in depth the opportunities for cooperation in training, research and academic exchange; and agreed to sign a bilateral cooperation agreement (MOU) to guide potential cooperation programs in the near future, including:
- Student exchange and cultural exchange program, allowing students of the two schools to study short-term, attend summer courses and cultural exchanges;
- Exchange program of lecturers and visiting professors in the fields of Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Transport and Aviation;
- Research cooperation in the fields of technology in Intelligent Transport, Traffic Engineering, Electrical Engineering;
- Coordinate training of Sandwich PhDs; join TDTU's network of friendly professors and participate in international research projects; Co-organizing international academic conferences on science and technology, Chinese language.



Established in 1896, Shanghai Jiao Tong University is one of the most prestigious universities in China, currently ranked #45 in the world according to QS Rankings 2025 and #52 according to THE Rankings 2025. The school is outstanding in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, Business and Management, and maintains a wide international cooperation network with the world's leading universities.



The working trip to Shanghai was a great success, opening up many new prospects for cooperation between Ton Duc Thang University and leading universities in China. The results achieved during the trip not only contributed to promoting the internationalization of TDTU's training and scientific research activities, but also affirmed the University's position in the Asian research university network.
During the working trip, the delegation also visited and met TDTU students participating in exchange studies in Shanghai.
