On September 29, 2022, the delegation of the Department of Education and Training and the Board of Directors of 25 key high schools in Binh Thuan province led by Mr. Phan Doan Thai - Director of the Department visited and worked with Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU). Welcoming the delegation were Dr. Tran Trong Dao - Acting President and leaders of functional units of TDTU.
At the meeting, the two sides summarized the results of cooperation in the past time. Binh Thuan is one of the provinces that has signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with TDTU since 2017. Besides the cooperation in other fields, the one in education and training has brought the most practical and prominent results. In the past 5 years, 448 Binh Thuan students have graduated from TDTU, currently working in agencies and enterprises of the province. The number of students from Binh Thuan currently studying at TDTU is nearly 700 students. TDTU has spent nearly 2 billion VND to support Binh Thuan students in the form of scholarships and other forms of support such as scholarships for schools that have signed a cooperation agreement with TDTU, scholarships to encourage students in study, tuition fee exemption and reduction, tuition reimbursement for students under preferential treatment policy, and supporting students facing difficulties due to storms, floods and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, TDTU has also organized internship programs for more than 500 students from high schools of the province to visit and experience directly at the University.
According to Mr. Phan Doan Thai, TDTU is not only distinguished by its training and research capacity but also its innovative learning environment as well as modern and civilized school culture, worthy of being a leading university in Vietnam. The Department of Education and Training and the Board of Directors of high schools in Binh Thuan expected that the two sides will continue to promote their existing strengths and continue to further improve the effectiveness of cooperation in the coming time, bringing many benefits to the society, especially for students from the province.
In addition, leaders of Binh Thuan’s Department of Education and Training together with the Board of Directors of 25 high schools signed a new cooperation agreement with TDTU. Besides the contents covered in previous cooperation programs, this agreement focuses more on sharing information in the field of education and training, admission consulting, training high-quality human resources to serve the needs of socio-economic development of Binh Thuan province.
