On the morning of June 9, 2021, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held the Conference on cooperation in teaching National Defense and Security Education in 2022.
Attending the conference were Colonel Tran Van Manh - Head of Militia and Self-Defense Department, Standing member of the National Defense and Security Education Council of the 7th Military Region, and delegates who are leaders of universities and colleges cooperating with TDTU’s Center for National Defense and Security Education in teaching the National Defense and Security Education.
From TDTU, there were Dr. Tran Trong Dao - Acting President, Colonel Nguyen Tien Loc - Director of the Center for National Defense and Security Education, and leaders of functional units.
At the Conference, Dr. Tran Trong Dao said: “Determining a great responsibility for the cooperation in teaching National Defense and Security Education courses for students from other universities/colleges that are TDTU’s partners as assigned by the Ministry of National Defense, TDTU has made a plan and gathered resources to be ready to complete the task well. The University wishes to receive suggestions from partners for the most effective coordination.”
Colonel Tran Van Manh emphasized the importance of National Defense and Security Education for students in training human resources who have the courage to live well, behave according to the law and participate in the defense of the country; at the same time, requesting universities/colleges to pay attention to well implement regulations on teaching the National Defense and Security Education.
Reporting on the plan to carry out the mission of cooperation in teaching the National Defense and Security Education, Colonel Nguyen Tien Loc said that the Center had carefully prepared the force of lecturers, military equipment, theoretical classrooms, training ground and necessary conditions for teaching students of affiliated universities/colleges. The study time distribution of affiliated universities/colleges has a great influence on the Center’s ability to meet requirements, therefore, in the spirit of cooperation, the Center will work bilaterally with each university/college to choose the best solution.
The Center for National Defense and Security Education of Ton Duc Thang University was established on March 31, 2017, formerly the Center for Physical Education and National Defense. With Decision No. 2861/QĐ/BQP dated August 24, 2021 by the Minister of Ministry of National Defense, the Center was assigned to teach the National Defense and Security Education courses to students of 22 universities and colleges in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai Province.
