Engineering students getting ready for the challenge

On January 20, 2021, the Center of Enterprise Cooperation and Alumni (CECA), Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) cooperated with Manpower Group Vietnam to organize a talkshow: “Bright technical careers - Are you ready?”.

The event attracted the attention of many TDTU students, especially engineering students from the Faculty of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, the Faculty of Information Technology, and the Faculty of Applied Sciences.

The speakers of the talkshow were Mr. Vo Phu Vinh - Country Manager of Mennekes, Vietnam, and Ms. Cao Le Thanh Loan - Operations Manager, Convenience Account, Outsourcing and Staffing Services of Manpower Group Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City.

In the fact that the COVID-19 epidemic has had a strong impact on the business operations of the vast majority of enterprises globally, the recruitment market is also heavily affected, what will future engineers prepare for the journey ahead?

The speakers showed that this is both a great challenge and an opportunity for young human resources in general and TDTU engineering students in particular to demonstrate to employers their skills and flexibility. In this way, each individual student must carefully prepare knowledge, skills, and professionalism in order to easily impress their employers. In addition, their life experiences will also play an important role in future professional development.

During the event, students also acquired a lot of information about the new requirements of employers, how to write impressive CV, and considerations when working in factories or workshops so that they can be confident to develop their career in a challenging and competitive environment.
