The Trade Union of Ton Duc Thang University preliminarily summarizes the 2017-2022 term and provides training on trade union skills
Implementing the plan No. 53-KH / LDLĐTP dated August 28, 2020 of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Confederation of Labor, on December 16, 2020, the Trade Union of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held the 2017-2022 midterm preliminary conference at Tan Phong campus.
Attendees at the conference included representatives of the university’s Standing Party Committee, the Executive Committee of the university’s trade union for the 2017-2022 term, the Executive Committee of member grassroots trade unions, the leaders and the deputy leaders of 34 on-duty trade union groups which belong to the university’s trade union.
The conference evaluated the results of the implementation of the main objectives, targets, tasks, and key contents set out by the Resolution of the 7th University Trade Union Congress, for the 2017-2022 term (from the beginning of the term to November 2020); identified some major and urgent problems in the current reality of the University that have not been updated according to the requirements of the new tasks; and updated additional mission contents in the remaining half term.
On December 18 and 19, 2020, the university’s union organized a training course on trade union affairs and fostering legal knowledge for members of the Executive Committee of the grassroots trade unions, the leaders and deputy leaders of trade union groups affiliated. Reporters at the conference were Ms. Vo Thi Thanh Huong - Faculty of Labor Relations & Trade Unions and Mr. Lam Thanh Danh - Faculty of Law.
The training content mainly focused on the new provisions and implementation guidelines of the Trade Union Charter; and new provisions added in the Labor Code 2019 that will be officially applied on January 1, 2021.
The training session helped the trade union officials to master the knowledge of trade union profession and the latest updated of the legal knowledge in order to apply to the trade union activities effectively.
