On the morning of December 1, 2020, a seminar and scholarship awarding of "Minoru Shirota Foundation" by Yakult Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Yakult) for students of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) was held. Three students with outstanding achievements received these scholarships are Ngo My Ngoc, Nguyen Vo Minh Phuong and Ngo Thi Thanh Hoa.

The event was attended by Mr. Mitsunori Takemura - Managing Director of Yakult Vietnam; lecturers and students of the Faculty of Applied Sciences.

Mr. Mitsunori Takemura introduced the meaning of "Minoru Shirota Foundation", considering this as a spiritual encouragement for students. He hopes that through this encouragement, TDTU students, especially students of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, will promote lifelong learning spirit, and continue to strive to achieve their dreams.

Through this event, students also learned more about the Japanese fondness for learning, as well as their perseverance, and were able access to useful knowledge in the field of probiotics and career opportunities at Yakult.

The representative of the recipients of the scholarship, Nguyen Vo Minh Phuong, shared that the Minoru Shirota scholarship has a very practical meaning, and is the motivation for students to study and conduct scientific research.
